Shahnaz Taplin Chinoy Shahnaz Taplin Chinoy, Founder and Board Chair

Shahnaz is a strategic communications’ consultant earning a Master’s Degree from Stanford University. She has worked with the Zellerbach Family Fund, the Goldman Environmental Prize and the Ford Foundation in India. For the past five years, Shahnaz has focused her efforts on locating training and job opportunities which empower Muslim women.

Vivienne Virani, Board Member Vivienne Virani, Board Member

Vivienne is a community volunteer and activist. She attended Pomona College and earned a Master’s Degree from UC Berkeley. Vivienne has served on the boards of several Bay Area non-profits, including Peninsula Family Service and StreetSmart4Kids. Together with her husband, Moez, she is committed to education for girls, supporting local as well as international efforts in Kenya, India and Pakistan.

Saher Himmati, Board Member and Treasurer Saher Himmati, Board Member and Treasurer

Saher Himmati is currently pursuing a degree in Human Development in the Bay Area and has a strong background in the field of Economics. As a homemaker, Saher has been actively involved in social services, community events coordination, and philanthropy in the Bay Area for the past 20 years. Specifically, Saher has counseled women struggling with domestic and social issues locally and in India. She is dedicated to advancing Muslim women’s rights and economic empowerment in the societies where they reside. Fashion and Art are hobbies she pursues passionately.
